What is TOTP?
Tigers on the Prowl partners artists with sponsors to raise money for local charities. The majority of the funds are raised through selling sponsorships, tickets, and artworks at our annual dinner and art auction. We invite all artists to apply to participate in order to raise money for these charities and to promote you and your artwork.
Who can enter?
Any resident of Boone County and surrounding areas in the state of Missouri.
What can be entered?
Artwork created in any medium that would include:
Painting – watercolor, tempera, oil, acrylic, gouache, oil pastels
Drawing – Pencil, charcoal, graphite, conte, ink, chalk pastel
Mixed Sculpture – clay wood metal stone, etc.
Mixed Ceramics – original fired utilitarian casts or clay
Other – Metal works, woodwork, mixed media, collage, printmaking, digital painting and photography
We will NOT ACCEPT any crafted furniture this year as it creates lots of work for the volunteers that move it from location to location.
What is the theme of this year’s art for Tigers on the Prowl?
In the past seven years we have had artist create TIGER themed art. This year, you are welcome to submit a Tiger themed idea or something that is related to our town. Ideas such as the Katy Trail, Mizzou Campus, etc. We are open and excited to see what ideas the artists submit.
What type of financial award can an artist anticipate receiving?
Upfront. each artist will receive $100 from the TOTP advisory board to create their art piece. Once the art piece goes to Live Auction, on October 6, 2020 you will receive 50% of the sale of the item you created and the other 50% will be split between the six selected charities for 2020; Safe Families, Grant Us Grace, CMCA, Rally for Rhyan, Love Coffee and Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
Advertising: Your art will be on display at the Columbia Mall as well as travel to many other locations and businesses in our community. Your art will prowl the town as we work together to not only show off your art but to engage the community to purchase tickets to the Dinner and Live Auction on October 6, 2020.
Important Dates:
April 15, 2020 – Last Day to complete the entry form. The Tigers on the Prowl (TOTP) Advisory Board Members and as well as a group of artists will notify you via email if you were selected as one of the 10 artisits to participate this year. July 15, 2020 Drop off Day – Columbia Mall between noon – 4:00
October 6, 2020 TOTP Dinner and Live Art Auction held at the Holiday Inn Executive Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. We anticipate over 500 attendees. As an artist you will receive two complimentary tickets to attend.
