Local Columbia charities are selected each year to participate in our annual Tigers on the Prowl campaign. We invite your organization to apply. While future success is not guaranteed, charities that participate in this event have made from $20K to over $55K. The event is a one-night dinner and art auction featuring approximately 10 local artists and highlighting 5-6 charities with live and silent auctions with an average of 400 guests in attendance.
Each year the Tigers on the Prowl board has been able to secure two $10,000 presenting sponsors. Those funds are used to pay for all cost for the event, with the exception of the meals and drinks. Every year there has been money remaining from the presenting sponsors donations and that money has been evenly distributed to the charities. The board will secure and decorate the venue, provide advertising, create the programs and table signage, train volunteers for the night of the event, secure local artists to create artwork for the event auction, manage software to run the event and accept payments all within an event framework to allow for maximum benefit without having to create and host an individual event.
We hold monthly meetings to ensure we are prepared for the festivities on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Each charity is expected to sell charity and table sponsorships with a minimum of one and up to three $2,500 sponsorship and a minimum of four and up to eight tables at $1,250. Each charity and table sponsorship includes 10 meal & drink tickets to the event. All proceeds of the $2,500 sponsorships will go to the charity and the proceeds of the tables sold will go to each charity less the cost of the meal and bar expenses. In addition, each charity is expected to provide a live auction item valued at $1,000 or more and silent auction items. The charity will receive all proceeds from their live and silent auction items. In the past charities have had from 20-65+ different silent auction items ranging from $50-$1,700.
The Tigers on the Prowl selection committee will strive to select charities whose applications indicate a dedication to making the event a success. The entire process works best if everyone participating puts in 110%. While the tiger team will assist each charity in raising as much money as possible, each charity needs to be engaged and involved throughout the event.
The success of the event relies heavily on the charities getting their supporters to attend the dinner and auction. This year we will be rewarding those charities who bring the greatest number of attendees to the event
We will be doing everything we can to reward the charities taking full advantage of the opportunity to be involved in the project. Tigers on the Prowl is dedicated to promoting and strengthening the charities’ public reach throughout Mid-Missouri.
